Thanks so much to everyone who came out to the Cameron House last week to celebrate the release of NO TALKER. What an amazing time! Thanks especially to my amazing band for the evening – Lucas Gadke, Mike Brushey, and Aaron Comeau – you are the greatest! And of course I have to thank J Kutchma and the Five Fifths, and Joshua Cockerill for joining us as well. What a night!

I’m so excited to announce that my next show will be at the Island Cafe on July 13th. The Cafe – which is on Ward’s Island, where I grew up – is one of my favourite places ever! I book a summer music series there, which you can learn more about here.

Early last week, I stopped by the Fish Eye headquarters in Kensington Market to shoot a video on their back porch. Thanks guys!

NO TALKER / BROKEN SPEAKER

Tuesday, November 8th, 2011

My friend at the illustrious Broken Speaker posted a wonderful review of NO TALKER last week. Check it out here!

I’m home from tour, but I’ve got some sweet shows coming up next week.

First I’m in Guelph on November 14th doing a house show put on by the awesome folks at Community Music, with Your Neck of the Woods and the Geese who are on tour all the way from Vancouver. Check out both bands, they’re awesome! Facebook event for more details – click here.

On Nov 16th I’m back in Toronto performing in a special show with Bruce Peninsula at the Dakota Tavern. BP is a large band, with as many as 10 members at some shows, but each of us makes our own music, too. On our October tour, we played a number of more intimate shows where we performed revue-style – alternating between acoustic versions of Bruce songs and the songs from our various solo projects. Now that the format has been sufficiently honed on the road, we’re bringing it to our hometown! Don’t miss the Bruce Trail Revue at the Dakota on Nov 16th! Details here

Here’s a video of one of our revue-style songs, The Leaves. We made in St. John’s NFLD with our friends from Heavy Weather.

It’s been a busy summer but, at long last, my new record NO TALKER is finished!

We’re celebrating with a big release party at Toronto’s Dakota Tavern this THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 8TH! It’s an early show – 8-10pm, so don’t be late!

I’m so proud of this album, and I’m happy to say that we’ll have the full band in tow – Matt Bailey on guitar/mandolin, Lucas Gadke on bass, and Mike Brushey on drums. We’ll also be joined by our good friend Michael Eckert who will be guesting on pedal steel! AAAAND the whole evening will begin with a solo set by my great friend Sean Donald. Check out his beautiful music at www.myspace.com/seanpatrickdonald.

Here’s the beautiful poster, courtesy of the wonderful Sasha Plotnikova….

I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS NIGHT!!
